Description:
Lovely Art Nouveau gold filled round locket made by Carter, Qvarnstrom & Remington that is on the larger size. This antique locket features raised repousse florals, an etched fleur de lis set with clear and red paste stones and a plain back. It hangs on a 12K gold filled twisted rope chain that is matinee length.
On the left side of the locket front are raised repousse flowers and buds with leaves that gracefully curve along the whole left side. Across from these floral designs and on the right side of this antique locket, is an etched fleur de lis that features 4 paste gems. The top 3 are clear and the single paste stone at the bottom of the fleur de lis is red. The paste gems are all round and faceted and are approximately 2mm in size. They are bead set into the fleur de lis on the locket front. The locket back is plain with no design. The locket has a satin finish on both sides.
NOTE:
Paste, or faceted glass, was often used to imitate the look of diamonds or precious gems.
NOTE: The locket is marked C&QR in one well frame which is the hallmark for Carter, Qvarnstrom & Remington, a jewelry company in business in Attleboro, Massachusetts from 1899-1930.
Inside the locket are two round compartments for photos both with their plastic covers and frames still intact.
The hinge on this locket is on the bottom, and the locket opens from the top.
The antique locket hangs from a newer vintage 12K gold filled twisted rope chain that is 20” in length. The bale is a plain round loop. The spring ring closure opens and closes securely as does this vintage locket.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear as would be expected an antique item that is early 1900s in age. Some indentations on the back commensurate with antique age - circa early 1900s. See photos for detail.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
