Description:
An antique Victorian locket necklace in an oval shape and with an ornate front and an ornately etched back. In the very center front is a raised design that looks somewhat like a cattail plant. This raised design is surrounded by a raised oval that framed it in. The next layer of the front design is a rectangular shape with one applied round in the center of each of the four sides. All around this are etched ridges that look like small rays outward. There is some dainty etching at the top above the oval raised frame. The outer edges of the front feature tiny rounds all around it typical of Etruscan designs. The bale on this mixed metal locket is a plain round loop.
The back of this Victorian oval shaped locket has an intricate etched design that includes vertical lines at the top and an inverted V shape at the bottom with etched swirled and curling designs as accents.
The locket has a very subtle color difference as some parts are 10K yellow gold filled (the back) and some appear to be brass (the front and sides). This antique mixed metal oval locket closes as intended.
The hinge on this Etruscan Revival locket is on the left side and it opens from the right side by pressing the little round pieces on each side in opposite directions. Inside the locket are two oval compartments with the frames. The faded paper backing, frames, and the glass covers are on both sides inside this locket. The interior of the locket has wells that are slightly deeper than a typical photo locket.
The locket hangs from a new 14K yellow gold filled Rolo chain. The clasp has a spring ring closure that opens and closes securely.
This locket is circa late 1800s - early 1900s.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
