Description:
A vintage Margot De Taxco brooch that is Sterling Silver with blue and black enamel in a lover's knot design that was made by Miguel Arias. See NOTE below about Margo De Taxco and Miguel Arias. The outer portion of the knot is a blue enamel. The inner edges are lined with a thin line of opaque black enamel. The black enamel has silver edges that show on both sides of the black. There is a small dot pattern under the translucent blue enamel.
The pin on the back is a safety clasp closure. It opens as intended and closes securely.
NOTE:
Margo De Taxco opened her own workshop in 1948 in Taxco, Mexico after divorcing her husband and co-silversmith, of ten years. Her unique designs were influenced by Art Deco, Mayan, and Japanese works. She began working with silver designs, and later added enamel to them. Her works gained popularity in the 50s and 60s, and suffered some tragic business losses from a fire and was unable to keep her business afloat. She died in 1974 but her works live on and are quite collectible. The designer Miquel Arias made this brooch and others that were similar. He was one of the master silversmiths who worked for Margo de Taxco. His silver works are quite collectible as are Margo de Taxco’s.

Care instructions
While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
