Description:
Lovely antique large round rose gold filled photo locket on an 18" rose gold filled chain that features a wonderful and intricate front lightly two-toned design with five "paste" accent stones. (The photos make the color contrast more intense than it actually is - it is more subtle in person.) The locket is marked inside with the FM CO stamp.
NOTE: The F. M. Co. hallmark stands for the Finberg Manufacturing Company. F M Company made vanity cases during the 1920s and 1930s. The company was located in the Attleboro, MA region.
The front of this locket features some darker toned designs on a slightly lighter background. The darker shapes include two flowers, one on the center and one on the right side, a leafy shape on the far left as well as some diamond shapes above and below the two florals. The centers of the five diamond shapes each have a round clear paste or glass stone set inside them.
NOTE: “Paste” stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The back of the locket has a monogram of the the letter “M” in an old font engraved in the center on a matte background. The letter M is etched between its lines with a lovely bit of detail adding to the monogram’s presentation.
This Art Deco locket, which is circa 1920s, has two frames and two covers inside. Currently there is one old sepia tone photo of a young man with a full head of dark hair in one side, and a paper backing on the other side. The locket can fit two photos inside, one on each side.
This antique round locket hangs from a new 18” long 14K rose gold filled fine oval link chain. The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens easily from the top side, and closes securely. The spring ring clasp on the chain also closes securely.

Condition:
The locket is in nice antique condition with light wear on both sides as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s. Some of the paste stones have darkened with age - see photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is marked FM CO on one of the inner frames.
The chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
