Description:
Lovely antique Art Deco gold filled round photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain. The front features an ornate diamond shaped geometric design that is made up of 7 rows of alternating "paste" stones and seed pearls. Both above and below this central diamond shape are two tiny etched three-leafed shapes adding some accent to the top and bottom of this diamond design. The rows in the geometric shape alternate with a single paste stone at the top, then two seed pearls, three paste stones, four seed pearls, three paste gems, two seed pearls and ending with a single paste stone at the very bottom. The bale on this early 1900s locket is a plain oval loop. The back of this locket is plain with no design. Both sides of the locket have a stain finish.
This locket is hallmarked for the Bates and Bacon Company of Attleboro, MA. The Bates & Bacon Company was in business from 1856 through 1943.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The two frames, paper backings and celluloid covers are still intact inside this vintage locket. This round locket hangs from an 18" long 14K gold filled twisted link chain.
The locket has its hinge on the bottom, opens easily from the top and closes securely with a snap. The spring ring clasp on the hallmarked new chain also closes securely.

In nice antique/vintage condition with wear as would be expected an item that is circa early 1900s - Art Deco era. One of the seed pearls in the fourth row is chipped - see photos for detail.

The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
