Description:
Lovely antique round gold filled photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain with an Art Nouveau design in the front that features a swirl and curves along with a set of 4 raised leaves inside a raised scalloped edged frame. The interior of this design has a matte finish while the outer edges are a shiny finish. There are 13 multicolored "paste" (glass) stones on the front in different colors including a very slightly larger pink glass gem in the very center, with some glass gems in shades of yellow, red, and clear that are slightly smaller around the center pink paste gem. There are two clear paste gems at the four outer edges of this vintage locket. The paste stones are all round and faceted. The locket opens as intended and closes securely.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The back side of this vintage locket is plain and has a satin finish.
Inside the locket are two compartments for photos with the frames intact and are hallmarked SOB.
NOTE: The maker's mark on this locket is for Sidney O. Bigney which was a company that operated out of Attleboro Massachusetts. The company made jewelry from the late 1890s to the mid 1940s.
The heavy vintage 14K gold filled double twisted link chain's spring ring clasp closes securely. The chain is newer than the locket and is circa 1970s.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with light wear as would be expected an antique gold filled item that is circa early 1900s. The back side, being plain, shows more wear - see photos for detail.
Markings:
The locket is hallmarked SOB & Co on both sides of the inner photo compartments.
The 19" long gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K near the spring ring closure and AVON on the other side.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
