Lovely large vintage 19th century engine turned gold filled locket on a long 14K gold filled Roll chain. This antique jewelry piece is round and a larger sized pendant locket than most. It features a central cartouche surrounded by a engine turned textured surface that covers most of the round front and back. The bale is a large round loop. While both sides of this locket have the same design, there are two different monograms inside the center cartouche on the two sides. One one side it has the initials GWR, and the other side has the initials MMC engraved in the center round cartouche area. The monograms are done in an old cursive font.
There are 2 large compartments for photos or small mementos to be placed inside this watch case locket that are lined in silver metal. One of these compartments currently has a late 19th century photo of a gentleman that is under a beveled glass cover. The other compartment is empty.
The hinge for this vintage watch case locket is on the one side, and it opens from the the other side by prying it open at the very center of the two pieces. It would make a fine holder for a memorial item or memento that is for safekeeping and not for display, as it is large and thicker than most lockets.
The antique locket hangs on a brand new and heavier 14K gold filled Rolo chain. The chain’s spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
The locket is circa late 1800s to early 1900s. This rather large locket is a classic piece and makes a bold statement when worn.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
