Description:
A very sweet antique round gold filled locket necklace with an etched floral design with five "paste" stones on one side, and a cursive monogram on the other side. The front of this small antique hallmarked locket has a vine with leaves that are on the bottom right side that seem to grow up that side of the locket. Across from this etched leafy vine on the left side, are five small "paste" or glass stones that are the buds or flowers growing from the vine. The five paste stones are at the ends of the gently curled tiny vines on the other side. On the back side of this Little Beatrice locket in an engraved monogram with the initials LMN in an old cursive font. There are two photo wells inside that are empty. One photo well has the hallmark - see photos. The Art Nouveau Era locket is early 1900s in age.

The front and the back of this hallmarked RB MacDonald Jewelry Company piece have a shiny finish. (See note below about this company.) The hinge is on the bottom and this locket opens from the top. It opens nicely and closes securely.

NOTES:
- The hallmark inside under the photo that says RBM stands for the R.B. MacDonald Company, which opened in 1874. The Bee hallmark with the Atrice is for the “Little Beatrice” line of lockets which they started to produce around 1903.
- "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass that was produced to imitate the look of expensive gems. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.

The chain, a new 14K gold filled fine curb chain, has a spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.

Locket: Approximately 3/4” diameter (not including the large bail ring. With the bale loop it is 7/8" long)

This gold filled locket is in nice antique condition with wear commensurate with age - early 1900s. See photos for detail.

The locket is marked RBM 1874 with a pictorial bee and Atrice on the inner well under the photo.
Chain is marked 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

    Care instructions

    While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.

    The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.

    Do you accept returns on items that have been altered?

    We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.

    What is your policy for multiple returns in a short period of time?

    We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
