Description:
An antique Victorian locket necklace in an oval shape and with an ornate front. In the very center is a vertical row of three shapes. The top is a circle, below that is a wide "V" shape and below that is a shield shape. In the center of the circle is a clear faceted glass stone. The V shape has rope edges, and the shield shape below that is made of applied rope with a small round in the center that is typical of Etruscan designs. Around this design is a frame that is a raised oval. The locket has a very subtle color difference as some parts are yellow gold filled (the designs on the front and the plain center back) and some appear to be brass (edges of the front and back and the sides). This antique mixed metal oval locket closes very securely.
The bale is a fanned design with rope around the edges that end in curls at the top. There is a small arrow shape at the base of the bale that "points" to the locket below.
The hinge on this Etruscan Revival locket is on the left side and it opens from the right side by pressing the little round pieces on each side in opposite directions. Inside the locket are two oval compartments with the frames. One side has some type of faded backing and the glass cover intact, while the other compartment has a tiny piece of paper that says GEO, a larger piece of paper that is folded that says Churchill, and a tiny, fine braided piece of hair.
The back of this Victorian oval shaped locket has no design but there is a raised oval about 1/4" in from the other edge that is the same as the raised frame on the front that encircles the center raised shape.
The interior of the locket has wells that are slightly deeper than a typical photo locket - it could hold photos and/or a small memento.
The locket hangs from a vintage 12K yellow gold filled rope chain. The clasp has a spring ring closure that opens and closes securely.
This locket is circa late 1800s - early 1900s.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
