Lovely antique Art Deco rose gold filled round photo locket on am 18" rose gold filled chain. The locket front features a shiny finish with an shield in the center as a cartouche that holds the engraved initials GB in an old cursive font. This shield shape is accented by etched flourishes above and bellow. The shield shape and the flourishes are set with paste (glass) stones that are above, below and around the monogram - a total of 15 faceted small glass stones. There is etched pinstriping on the remainder of the front of this vintage locket, and at the very outer edge, there is an etched scalloped line around the round locket face.
The design is a dainty and delicate one, and the paste stones draw attention to the central shape. The back also has a shiny finish and is monogrammed with larger letters/ initials "GMB" an old cursive font.
This locket, which is circa early 1900s, is hallmarked for the W&H Company on one of the inner frames of this locket pendant. There are no frames or photos inside this locket.
The hallmark inside the locket stands for the Wightman & Hough Co. This jewelry company was established in 1856 in Providence, Rhode Island. W&H manufactured a variety of gold filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Their jewelry was hallmarked with a heart with the initials “W&H CO” inside. The company was known for their lockets, medallions, and seals, and made these items through the early 1920s.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The locket can fit two photos inside, one on each side. This antique round locket hangs from a new 18” long 14K rose gold filled chain. The locket, that has its hinge on the bottom, opens easily and closes securely securely. The spring ring clasp on the fine oval link chain also closes securely.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
