Description:
Lovely antique Art Nouveau 10K gold filled round photo locket on a 14K gold filled chain. The front features an ornate repousse floral design of a large open flower on the left and small buds above and below it. There is a swirl embossed on top of the flower. On the right side is a leafy shape that is encrusted with 10 "paste" stones. On the far right side are some curved "rib" shapes. The back has a matte finish and is engraved with the letter "N".
This locket, which is circa late 1800 or early 1900s, is hallmarked for the W. & S. Blackinton Co. of Meriden, CT that was in business beginning in the late 19th century.
NOTE: "Paste" stones are a type of cut glass. Paste stones were mainly produced to imitate the look of diamonds. The most commonly used material for paste was lead glass.
The two frames are still intact and one side of this vintage locket holds an old black and white picture of a man and woman. This round and larger sized locket hangs from a fine 18" long gold filled chain - a very feminine chain for a very feminine locket pendant.
The locket has its hinge on the bottom, opens easily from the top and closes securely. The spring ring clasp on the newer chain also closes securely.

Condition:
In nice antique condition with wear on both sides and on the paste stones as would be expected an antique item that is circa early 1900s- see photos for detail.

The locket is marked W & SB with a star on both frames
The gold filled chain is stamped 1/20 14K GF on the spring ring clasp.

While vintage and antique jewelry items have endured the test of time, we offer recommendations so that they continue to give you years of wear. We advise removing jewelry for washing hands, dishes, sports, before sleeping and during vigorous activity as they may be damaged. Wash your jewelry with warm water, mild, detergent-free soap, and a soft toothbrush.
The jewelry pieces in our shop are vintage or antique pieces. We do not sell modern day (new) reproductions. As such, all of our jewelry is used and has been worn and enjoyed prior to your purchase. We try very best to accurately describe the condition of each piece and show the condition in our photos.
We accept returns and refund on items only if the item is in the same condition it was when it was sent to the customer. If you choose to alter/change/modify an item, it is not eligible for a return or refund.
We gladly accept returns for a full refund. However, when more than 4 returns from the same shipping address are requested within a 2 month period, we cannot accept a new order. It will be cancelled and fully refunded.
